Artoo waves "Helloooo"

 

Artoo is a Red-Tailed (Congo) African Grey Parrot. He's now one year old. We got him when he was only a little over 3 months old, on May 15, 2006.

We acquired Artoo from Janet Boeger of Grey Expectations, who is a breeder of african greys and caique parrots. She did a great job raising Artoo, keeping him well socialized and healthy. So when it was time for him to come home, he was excited and took to us easily.

It didn't take long for us to fall in love with him. He can be quite a handful sometimes but he's also very sweet and loving. He's a very curious bird and is not afraid of anything (except for people). He loves chewing on anything he comes across and loves to eat almonds and dried whole wheat pasta. He loves to talk and makes all sorts of sounds but he rarely talks in front of strangers. Sometimes, we can't get him to shut up. And sometimes, he's so cute and funny. He always knows how to make us laugh :)
