Wedding Party
ABBY and ANDREW (bride and groom)
Abby and Andrew have known each other for 6 years but didn't start dating until after they've
already known each other for a year and have become good friends. They met at work, both just
starting their new careers (in electrical engineering) straight out of college (Andrew's a Princeton
Man and Abby's a UC Davis girl). Although they did annoy each other in the beginning, they
eventually realized that being annoying together was much more rewarding and fun. They have
so much in common and love to share their life together blissfully ever after.
TERESA OOI (maid of honor)
Teresa and Abby have been best friends since college. They were lab partners
and constantly got in trouble for giggling too much during lab. Teresa was also
brave enough to be Abby's roommate after college. They lived together for 5 years
and danced til' 2am every possible weekend :) Teresa currently works for Xilinx as a
Core Design Engineer. She's a great cook and a wonderful friend.
CAROLYN MENDOZA (bridesmaid)
Carolyn and Abby have been best friends since high school. They met during gym class
and found an instant connection ... they both agreed that square dancing was
much better (and less painful) than running laps :) Carolyn is now a registered nurse
at UC Medical Center doing what she does best ... taking care of people.
GEORGETTE SAAVEDRA (bridesmaid)
Georgette and Abby have also been best friends since high school. They also met in
gym class and with Carolyn (above), became the best square dancers in the history of
Valley High School. Georgette continued her calling and became a dance instructor
and counselor to young kids in an after school program. And now she's a full-time mommy
to 4-year old boy Xavier and baby girl Isabela (aren't they both adorably cute!).
KIMBERLY JANE-OTEYZA (bridesmaid)
Kim and Abby have been best friends since junior high. They met in 7th grade and
instantly hit it off. They found so much in common - disliked the same girl in class,
both wanted to be Top Gun pilots driving a motorcycle, and both fell in love with
River Phoenix. Kim graduated with a health care administrative degree and is currently
in the nursing program.
NINA PARAS (Flower Girl)
Nina is the daughter of Abby's long time family friends, Kiko and Ivic Paras
(Kiko has known Abby since she was a little girl). Nina is a very cute and talented 7 year
old.
HERMAN YANG (best man)
Herman is Andrew's elder brother of 2 years. They have been annoying each other for
27 years and counting. What more is there to say?
VICTOR CHIN (groomsman)
Victor is Andrew's good friend and college roommate. They met on the first day
of freshman year at college, and became fast friends. Victor is almost like
Andrew's twin brother from New Jersey. They share the same birthday, are both
ABCs (American's Born Chinese), and lived together for 4 years at the same college.
Thankfully, there are no visual similarities. During their time together in school,
Andrew and Victor mastered the art of procrastinating, sleeping, and procastinating.
Victor has recently graduated from medical school at Mt. Sinai, and is currently doing
his residency in Boston. Rumor has it that they let him sleep every third day.
BRENDAN O'HIGGINS (groomsman)
Brendan and Andrew have been good friends since college. Brendan and Andrew met in college
while taking the same engineering classes. Mutual distrust gradually faded, to be
replaced by ruthless jokes and teasing, and fierce competition in the classroom and on the
basketball court. Brendan and Andrew both moved out to Silicon Valley after college and
lived together for a year. Brendan and his lovely wife Kitlyn are very good friends of
Abby and Andrew.
VINCE LEUNG (groomsman)
Vince is Andrew's good friend and previous co-worker. They met at work (in AMD) and
found a common interest - they both like to workout and flex in front of the mirror.
Vince currently works for Altera as a Design Engineer and gets less sleep
than Victor.
JOHN HERRERA JR (ring bearer)
Johnnie is Abby's adorable first cousin and godson. He will be 6 years old in
July and is currently attending St Lucy's Catholic School in Long Beach
as a kindergarten. He loves to play and says that his favorite subject is 'recess' :)
ANGELO FLORES (bible bearer)
Angelo is also Abby's first cousin and just as adorable. He is also
attending St Lucy's Catholic School in Long Beach as a 4th grader.
He is a very disciplined 9 year old who's always at the top of his
class and loves to play video games with his cousins.
Linda and Ken Tang (Primary Sponsors)
Linda and Ken Tang are Andrew's aunt and uncle. They have lived in the bay area for quite a long
time and have established a successful business. They have one son, Michael, who is currently
attending UC Irvine. Abby and Andrew are very grateful to have them so close by.
Ellen Daclan and Ricky Zerrudo (Primary Sponsors)
Ellen and Ricky are Abby's aunt and uncle (her mom's younger sister and younger brother). They both
live in southern California. Ellen has three children and Ricky has 2 children.
