2005 Year In Review
Gosh, what did happen this year?? Hhhmm....Oh Yes! The Wedding! ...among many other things that are now a big blur since it all happened so quickly.
Preparing for the big day --
That's pretty much all we did for the first 6 months of the year. Sad but true.
The Wedding Weekend --
Friday rehearsal dinner, Saturday 5pm wedding followed by dinner and lots of dancing, then Sunday barbeque at the park to celebrate Abby's 30th birthday. It was definitely a busy weekend.
Running for a cause --
At the end of July, we joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training 4 month training program to run our very first marathon in Honolulu. We were able to raise over $8000 in donation of which 80% goes directly to helping cure leukemia. Thanks to all our friends and family who generously donated, raising the funds was the easy part. Our training was tough especially those 5AM morning runs but it was all worth it.
Honeymooning in Greece --
In September, after Herman's wedding, we spent 3 weeks in Greece, 2 weeks on land and one week cruising the mediteranean sea.
Aloha --
In December, we ran our first ever marathon in Honolulu, Hawaii. The night before the marathon, Team In Training threw a big party for all the runners. It was such a moving and powerful event. They really got us excited and hyped up about our race.
Our marathon was a great experience and also a very painful experience, especially for Andrew, who had leg cramps starting at mile 16. At the end, we decided never to run a marathon again, happy that it was over.
